The YWCA Heart Health Program provides free or low-cost tests for blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose and helps determine a woman's risk of developing heart disease or stroke (known together as cardiovascular disease, or CVD). According to the American Heart Association, 1 out of every 5 women has some form of CVD which causes more deaths among women than any other disease, including breast cancer. Through education and screening, the Heart Health Program is helping women lower their risk.
