Our Sisters Closet
THE NEED:
Job hunting can cause plenty of stress even under the best of circumstances. For women who can’t afford an interview outfit or professional attire, it can be particularly harrowing. Through the Our Sister's Closet program, these women can receive a voucher for professional clothes at no cost to them.
OUR GOAL:
Our Sister's Closet provides free professional clothing for women who are entering or re-entering the workforce and who need appropriate attire for the office and job interviews. The YWCA and the Assistance League of Albuquerque formed a partnership in 2008 to provides this service.
The program aims to help economically disadvantaged women work toward self-sufficiency.
Your donations are vital to the success of Our Sister's Closet as it provides clothing to women who would otherwise not be able to afford them. Take your gently used professional clothes to the Assistance League's Bargain Box located at 5211 Lomas Blvd. NE (just west of San Mateo on Lomas, on the northside of the street). Drop off your donations Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm - they are closed on Sunday and Monday.
